WOODEN BOOK - COVER DESIGN WORKSHOP
AT MOLLY-MEG, ESSEX ROAD
In this workshop, children had the opportunity to create stories and design a cover for their very own imaginary book, using a variety of art materials. We designed and hand painted pieces of wood for children to work over and take home at the end of the workshop.
The workshop started with children being encouraged to consider what symbols, character’s, moods and images might be found in their imaginary book and then express these thoughts and feelings through art media.
Using their wooden books as a ‘blank canvas’, children then selected elements of their stories that they would like to include in their book cover design.
